According to 23-year-old Adam Smith, an avid user of Outlook since he was a kid, Microsoft's email tool has significant drawbacks: with prolonged usage, Outlook becomes slower and it gets harder to search for email addresses and phone numbers.

Smith's not the only one who faces this problem with Outlook; millions of other users would probably join in to lament the same. To offset this problem, Smith formed a company called Xobni, which today released a plug-in for Outlook.
Xobni (beta) is the Outlook plug-in that Smith says will save users' time while finding email conversations, contacts, as well as attachments.

Basically, Xobni helps you find what you want in your flooded Outlook inbox. It helps you see contact details besides each message and view past conversations with a particular sender of mail, as also allows you instantly open any file exchanged with a sender. It also has a 'fast search' option to enable finding everything else.

In addition, Xobni offers email analytics (rankings, graphs, and statistics detailing how you and your contacts use email), threaded conversations, a personal assistant that finds open slots in your calendar and schedules appointments, and a phone number (from emails) extractor.

As if this wasn't enough -- it also navigates your inbox by people, identifies a contact's manager, business partner, or assistant and helps you discover that email's social network.

After a quick installation process, Xobni integrates itself with your Outlook mail and helps you see more information that is much more easily accessible than before. You can download this plug-in here.
